Toni Rangel is a long-time resident of Rapid City, SD. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, she has desired to be an artist since her high school years. Now that her four children are grown, she is able to devote more attention to her passion.

She credits her growth as an artist to her relationships with master painter and portrait artist, Charles Cross; water colorist, Rose Edin - her long-time mentor and friend; local artist, Jan Wiedmeier; and award-winning portrait artist, Margaret Carter Baumgaertner.

Toni is a talented portrait artist with many local commissions. Since living in the Black Hills, she has developed relationships with Native American residents. Those bonds, and a deep curiosity in their culture, have inspired many of her recent paintings.
